They created a unique sound with influences from both popular and underground bands. Aware of this contradiction in style since the moment their music was starting to gain shape, ..ANNA ZABBA.. chose to embrace it instead of fight it. .. .. Initiately started by Tom Hoekman (the Bloody Honkies) and Thomas Beernink, ..ANNA ZABBA.. was formed when Thomas van Erp and Wieske Vreeswijk (Plain, Caspian) joined. It's unclear where the name ..ANNA ZABBA.. originally came from, a certain thing is that there's a candy bar named Abba Zaba in a song by Tom Waits. Also Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band sing about "Abba Zaba go-zoom Babbette baboon". Nonetheless they decided that ..ANNA ZABBA.. sounded like the name best suited for their band. .. .. April 2010 will see the digital release of their four song demo. Recorded in a DIY studio with the help of a friend in 2 days, ..ANNA ZABBA.. took the challenge to do everything by themselves. They tried to capture the excitement experienced when playing together, giving a preview of what to expect when ..ANNA ZABBA.. is playing live!
