hello. how are you?
just to show you we aren't lazing around, i've uploaded two new songs on our space:
1. desperate by the paradise; a rough version of one of the songs which will be on our first full lenght. unedited, unmixed, unanything really. this is what happens when your drumming friend leaves you: you start to use drumcomputers. this is our first take on this. although this is quite a plain beat, we will experiment with more exotic beats (gabber?) on the album too. most of the record will be ordinairy live drumming though. we all have traumatic experiences linked to the song paradise by the dashboard light by meatloaf and i guess that's what this song is about. my friend emily came up with this title when we discussed worst songs ever and she couldn't remember the actual title of the song.
2. song of the week; every week (or so) i will upload a new recording i made at home on my new recording device. after thirteen years of taperecording i will try to get digital. let's see what happens. i will record sixty songs before september falls. old classics which no one has ever heard, brand new songs and never finished ones i have finally seemed to have come to terms with. the song i've uploaded today is called the rules of attraction and it's the very first (test) recording with my new gadget. i wrote it back in 1998 when i had just moved to amsterdam and got invited to a birthday party while reading the brett easton ellis book with the same title.
okay, that's it for now. we are still alive and still looking for a drummer that is willing to 'rehearse' every friday and play shows!
bye bye, love,
