On February 16th Laurrhie Deborah Brouns was born in Port-Au-Prince ( Haiti) . At the age of two she moved back to the Netherlands with her Haitian mother and Dutch father. During her early years, it was clear that Laurrhie had a passion for music. She would sing along with her favorite artists, and give little shows for family and friends. When she reached the age of five, Laurrhie first performed in the ‘Meervaart’ in front of all the kids in her junior high school and their parents. The audience responded very well to the little artist . She loved the attention and the spotlights on her. At the age of nine she attended the very prestigious National Ballet Academy, and was a student there for almost two years. Until she decided that it was time for a change. So she switched over to musical, and took dancing/vocal classes. She also starred as the leading lady Dorothy in the SJMA production ‘The wizard of Oz’ and toured all across theaters in the Netherlands. She liked doing musical, but it was not what she loved the most. No her heart’s desire was, and remained singing. So she quit musical, and focused on music. Laurrhie first began writing her songs at the tender age of eleven. But it wasn't that serious at the time. A friend encouraged her to start writing for real. So she followed that advice, and still writes all of her songs on her own ‘til this day on. When she was twelve, she performed a lot at her high school. Wether it was a prom, or just an event that the school had organized. Her fellow students loved every bit of every show she did. So Laurrhie kept on performing and writing. You might have seen her in action quite a few times now. In february of 2010 she did a clubtour. She was also a part of the, by artist Boris organized, Michael Jackson tribute in Paradiso , has performed with Bob Marley's band ' The Wailers' , shared the stage with Candy Dulfer at the Dauphine. Performed at the Amsterdam Arena twice for about 50.000 people both times, and graced many other stages like the Melkweg, Sugarfactory, Bitterzoet, P60 etcetra. Laurrhie is currently working on her debut album with a strong team of talented producers (Darin G, Neenah, The next movement, Controverse). At the same time she is also studying music at Amsterdam's Conservatory , from which she will (hopefully) graduate in 2011. Everyone who gets a chance to hear her sing, no matter what music they prefer, agrees on one thing. This girl is on fire, and possesses not only a powerful, strong, beautiful voice but also a warm , energetic , spontaneous personality. It’s almost hard to believe that this girl is barely in her twenties ,and already hotter than ever. It all started out as a dream of a little girl, and now this girl is realizing that dream. So keep your eyes open, but your ears even more . Cause she is coming faster than you know, and she is just getting started…
