.... .. .. .. .. .. .. ....WELCOME TO "THE POP LEAGUE" (Established April, 2006" ) THE POP LEAGUE started out innocently as a way to share a few artists I really liked, and well, the thought occurred to me that there is "strength in numbers", so, The Pop League was born. It is really a great way to share fans, "cross-pollinate" as I like to think of it, and the goal is to broaden our listener base, and make some great new friends from around the globe. So enjoy these artists---FIND THEIR HOMESITES IN THE TOP FRIENDS PAGE--and be sure to check out the other listening rooms in The Pop League! WELCOME TO THE POP LEAGUE! ---Richard Filaccio (Founder/Artist of The Pop League).. UPDATED: JUNE 24, 2009 ..The Pop League ROOM 3:.. ..SILJE KARLSEN (Oslo, Norway) A major talent from Norway, who gained a following in England over the past few years, while she lived there. Now back in Norway, she has just released several new songs, and we have one of them. Pills For Love is a progression for Silje, her writing, free flowing vocals and production makes this a song that bears more fruit with each listening! .. SILJE'S WEBSITES: http://www.myspace.com/siljesworld.. AND-- silje.co.uk ..RUSSELL JOSLIN-- (UK) is an authentic, intense solo performer. "BLEED" is, in a word, brilliant. This is intense, and shows Russell in his finest moment. Vocals carry the melody and incisive lyrics masterfully. Use of an electric guitar to emphasize the subject matter and emotions was a nice addition to his usually spare sound...RUSSELL'S WEBSITEs: russell@russelljoslinmusic.co.uk.. AND-- http://www.myspace.com/russelljoslinesquire ..RICHARD FILACCIO (Yreka, California, USA) (that's me!). I did a John Lennon Tribute back in October 2007, and "RAIN" is from those live, no frills sessions. Just a guitar, Me, and my nerves to dare attempt any Lennon song. I always loved Rain, which was the B side to Paperback Writer single...a lesser known song, pre-psychedelia.....RICHARD'S WEBSITE: http://www.myspace.com/richardfilaccio ..MOZZY GREEN--(London, UK)....MOZZY GREEN, is the band Ben Sommers resides in. No. longer doing the solo thing, he is full time back with the excellent Mozzy Green. The UK's band that the major labels should be signing immediately!!! If you love cello as I do, Anna just kills on it in this LIVE song "ICICLE"...... Hi,
thanks for being my friend. I wish you a nice day and i hope we hear from each other soon.
A wonderful selection of songs, I wasn't going to listen to them all, but then I had to.
Pills by Silje Karlsen is a really powerful song. Very engaging arrangement, sound, and I love the "substance" of the song.
Icicle by Mozzy Green has a really evil cello and acoustic guitar duel going on. Excellent simplicity.
Rain by Richard Filaccio sounds like a classic folk song. Full of enthusiasm an bombast, would be great to hear live!!
Bleed by Russel Joslin. Wow, very dark, brooding, soul searching, totally engaging lyrically, like being witness to private psychotic moment.
Thanks for the friendship!
Check out our new songs from our new album, Half Moons And Hurricanes!
- Blue Basement
Hi everyone!
Lovely song, bleed...
Now there's lots of new stuff to check out in my space at the moment: brand new design to accompany new pics and a new song called Pills for Love, which is more about our screwed up lives and less about Viagra than you might think. And very soon there are gonna be more new tunes, as well:) Come on over!
xx Silje xx
