It’s that time of year again! Yep, the time of the year when we celebrate the things we liked and didn’t like in pop culture in list form!
.
Let’s start with the good, shall we?
.
The Top 10 Best Things In Pop Culture In 2012
.
1.) ‘The Avengers’ – With so many characters (and not to mention mega star egos) to juggle, ‘The Avengers’ could have easily been an incoherent mess of a movie. Instead, under the watchful eye of director Joss Whedon, it turned out to be the most entertaining (and dare I say best) super hero movie ever made. The film managed to give equal screen time to all of its mega watt superstars and finally (FINALLY!!!) did The Hulk proud. Yes, ‘The Avengers’ made a ton of money, but it never felt like a soulless blockbuster, actually, it was just the opposite – which is why ‘The Avengers’ will forever be considered a classic. -
'Wonder Woman' is Returning to TV, and Here Are 12 Actresses We Think Could Play Her

DC Comics
.
Even though NBC tried and failed to bring Wonder Woman to the small screen with Adrianne Palicki playing the title character, that isn’t stopping other networks from trying to bring the DC Comics superhero to life. The CW, a network who has seen success in the superhero department with “Smallville” and “Arrow” – is developing a new series starring the golden-bracelet-wearing, invisible-jet-flying Amazon princess. They’re reportedly looking at actresses who are at least 5′ 8 and in their early 20s, so we’ve compiled a list of a few candidates we think are worthy to wear the red, white and blue. -

David O. Russell’s upcoming film, Silver Linings Playbook, seems to have all the elements needed to make it a hit at the box office. The cast is great, the plot sounds interesting and engaging, and it stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Wait, did I already mention the cast? Yeah, that’s how good this looks. -

I had a chance to see David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook last week when it played at the AFI Fest Presented By Audi here in Los Angeles, and it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence do some of their best work, so mark this one down on your calendars. Before it comes out later this month, though, you can check out this cool music video featuring Alabama Shakes recording their song “Always Alright” for the movie, which cuts back and forth between the musicians and clips from the actual movie, plus a new TV spot as well. While you’re at it, check out our interview with the band and help spread the word about these hot up-and-coming artists. Watch the videos below. -

As we move fully into the fall season, that means one thing for movie lovers: more prestige movies coming to theaters. One that’s made a big splash at film festivals so far this year has been David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook, which stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as two people who have a few screws loose and have to overcome their rather unique situations. Yahoo! has a new clip from the movie, which features Cooper interrogating The Hunger Games star about her recent sexual escapades. Check it out below!
